image1 (1)My weight-loss story!Hello my name is Shelly. I live in Austin, MN. I have 3 kids twins that are 14 (Faith &Dillin) and my last one is going to be 13 in December (Jasmine). I have been with my husband for 20 years, married for 17 years. I’m 36.I didn’t have a great life when I was growing up. My father beat us on a daily basis. I was told my whole life by my family that I would never amount to anything! The only person I’m close to is my little brother! Michael he is a wounded veteran! After having my twins I started gaining weight and then on top of that was pregnant again. Then I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, also PCOS. So I tried all the diets out there. Prescription weight-loss pills nothing would help I wouldn’t lose it and then gained it all back plus more. So last year I started the weight-loss journey with Mayo clinic in Rochester.I had my gastric bypass on May 3, 2017. My highest weight going into surgery was 275 when I left the hospital I was 280. As of today November 1, 2017 I am down 85 pounds and 53 inches all over. It’s still hard for all I can see is that I’m still Fat. I wish that I can see what other people see. My husband was not that supportive of the surgery he said I was taking the easy way out. I don’t think I’ve ever had an easy life and he should know this all the struggles I’ve had he thinks that I should have more self-confidence but I don’t and I don’t know how I get it! So I work two jobs I work at the Bus Company as an aid and I take care of two little boys ages two and five. The good part about having the surgery for me is my cholesterol is good now my acid reflex is great I am not a prediabetic. I do apologize it’s not very inspirational but this is my story.
